Duties of Board Members

Section 1 – Past President
The Past President shall, in the absence of the President, perform the duties of the President and shall chair the Nominating Committee at the request of the President.
Section 2 – President
The President shall preside over all meetings and shall chair the Bylaws Review Committee. The President is an ex-officio member of all GCA committees except the Nominating Committee.
Section 3 – President-Elect
The President-Elect shall, in the absence of the President and Past President, perform the duties of the President and shall chair the annual Finance Committee at the President’s request. In the event of a vacancy in the office of President, the President-Elect shall assume the office of President.
Section 4 – Vice President
The Vice President shall oversee the GCA Suggestion Program, chair the Special Projects Review Committee and perform other such duties as assigned by the Board. In the event of a vacancy in the office of President-Elect, the Vice President shall assume the responsibilities of the President-Elect until a successor is elected.
Section 5 – Secretary
The Secretary shall keep the official records of the GCA and shall be a standing member of the Bylaws Review Committee.
Section 6 – Treasurer
The Treasurer shall only disperse funds as the Bylaws provide and will keep accounts of the receipts and disbursements of the GCA Funds, make monthly reports to the Administrative Board and a year-end report to the GCA membership at the annual Membership Meeting in January. The Treasurer will serve on the Finance, Special Projects Review, Funds for Food and the Employee Gift Fund Committees.
Section 7 – Assistant Secretary and Treasurer
There shall be an Assistant Secretary and Assistant Treasurer appointed by the Board. The Nominating Committee will identify, interview and recommend qualified candidates. If the Secretary or Treasurer become unable to serve, the appointed assistant shall serve in the position until a successor is elected.
Section 8 – Members at Large
Members at large shall attend all Administrative Board Meetings and provide input as required.
Section 9 – Resident Board Member
The FRC Board member shall act as Liaison between the FRC and GCA Boards, attending all FRC and GCA Board meetings and establishing and maintaining communication for mutual understanding and cooperation between them.
Section 10 – Ex-officio Board members
Ex-officio members shall attend all Administrative Board meetings and provide input as required.
